Ingredients

  • 500 g white bread (1 round fresh loaf)
  • 0.25 Cucumber
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 handful basil
  • 1 can tuna (drained)
  • 2 tbsp black olives
  • 1 large white onion
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • Olive oil (extra virgin)
  • wine vinegar
  • Salt
  • black pepper (ground)

Instructions

    Cut a lid off the loaf and hollow out the bread so that a wall about 2 cm thick remains. Save the crumb for another use.

    Peel the cucumber and slice thinly. Wash, halve, seed, and cut the bell pepper into narrow strips. Drain the tuna and break it up slightly. Peel, halve, and slice the onion into very thin rings. Wash the tomatoes and cut into wedges. Peel the eggs and cut into wedges.

    In a bowl mix cucumber, bell pepper, tomatoes, basil leaves, onion, and olives with 4-5 tbsp olive oil, 2-3 tbsp wine vinegar, salt, and pepper to taste. Fold in the tuna. Taste again. Fill the hollowed bread with the salad, lay the egg wedges on top, season them with salt and pepper, and garnish with basil before serving.
