Spoonsparrow: Crispy flatbread with Jewish tradition

Ingredients

  • 500 g whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt (optional)

Instructions

    Add the flour to a bowl and mix in the salt.

    Pour 200 ml water over the mixture and stir carefully with a wooden spoon, kneading lightly for 3–4 minutes.

    Shape the dough into 16–20 small balls, then roll each one flat with a rolling pin. Place the dough sheets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and prick them several times with a fork.

    Bake the matzo in a preheated oven at 180 °C (160 °C fan‑forced; gas: level 2–3) for about 10–12 minutes.
