Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 250 ml milk (or cream)
  • 80 g Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • nutmeg
  • 70 g butter
  • 70 g freshly grated white bread

Instructions

    Peel, wash, and cut the potatoes into small pieces; simmer in salted water for about 20 minutes. Drain and press hot through a potato masher.

    Heat the milk (or cream) with 80 g of butter and whisk it into the mashed potatoes until light and fluffy, seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste.

    In a pan, melt the remaining 70 g of butter; add the bread crumbs and stir until golden brown.

    Serve the mashed potatoes in a warmed bowl and sprinkle the breadcrumb butter on top.
