Marinated Mushrooms

Spoonsparrow marinated mushrooms taste wonderful with freshly baked bread!

Ingredients

  • 100 g small button mushrooms
  • 6 small shallots
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 500 ml white wine vinegar
  • 2 spice cloves
  • 1 tsp white peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 8 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

    Clean the mushrooms, trim stems and cut in half or leave whole depending on size.

    Peel the shallots and garlic. Combine both with white wine vinegar, 250 ml water, spice cloves, peppercorns, bay leaf and salt in a pot. Bring to a boil, add the mushrooms to the boiling liquid, remove from heat and let steep for about 10 minutes.

    Distribute the mixture into jars, pour 4 tbsp olive oil over each jar, seal immediately and store marinated mushrooms in the refrigerator. They taste wonderful with freshly baked bread!
