Ingredients

  • 350 g Mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 tsp thyme leaves
  • Salt
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 3 tbsp chopped walnut kernels
  • 8 slices whole-grain toast
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 100 g Gruyère cheese (sliced)

Instructions

    Clean the mushrooms and slice them thinly. Sauté in hot oil for about 3 minutes. Add the pressed garlic. Season with 1 tsp thyme, salt, and pepper, then stir in the walnuts.

    Lightly toast the bread slices, spread butter on each, and place on a baking sheet. Spread the mushroom mixture over the toast. Cut the cheese into strips and lay them atop the mushrooms. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts; sprinkle with thyme before serving.
