Ingredients

  • 150 g flour
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g Ground Almonds
  • 100 g cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp rose water
  • 1 Egg white
  • 250 g almond flakes

Instructions

  1. 1.

Mix flour, powdered sugar, and ground almonds. Add cold butter in small pieces, the egg, and rose water; with a knife chop until crumbly, then quickly knead into a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic film, and refrigerate for about 2 hours.

  2. 2.

Roll out the chilled dough between two sheets of cling film to a thin layer and cut out flower-shaped pieces. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3.

Whisk the egg white; brush it over the cookies and arrange almond flakes in rosette patterns, lightly brushing again with more egg white.

  4. 4.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (middle rack) for about 8 minutes until crisp. Let cool.
