Ingredients

  • 10 untreated lemons
  • 1 l alcohol (90 vol% from the apothecary)
  • 1 kg sugar

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Heat the lemons briefly, then grate them dry. Cut off the zest without the white pith using a sharp knife. Seal in the alcohol and let steep for about 10 days.

    Boil 1 l water with the sugar and simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Take the lemon peels out of the alcohol, add them to the syrup, cover and let sit for 2 days.

    Strain the mixture through a cloth and mix with the alcohol.

    Fill prepared bottles, seal tightly and store in a cool place. After two days it is ready to serve.
