Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 4 tbsp plant oil
  • 400 g ground meat (from Kobe beef)
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 4 lettuce leaves (e.g., oak leaf lettuce)
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. 1.

Peel, halve and slice the onions into strips. In a hot pan, slowly brown them in 2 tbsp oil until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.

  2. 2.

Season the ground meat with salt and pepper and form it into 4 patties. In the same hot pan, cook each side for 2-4 minutes (depending on desired doneness) in the remaining oil.

  3. 3.

Wash, dry, and tear the lettuce leaves into bite‑sized pieces. Wash the tomatoes, cut off the stem end, and slice them.

  4. 4.

Halve the buns horizontally, toast the cut sides until crisp, then assemble: layer lettuce, patty, tomato slices, and onion strips on the bottom bun, place the top bun, and serve.
