Ingredients

  • 3 apples
  • 80 g walnut kernels
  • 4 sprigs marjoram
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp walnut oil
  • coarse Sea salt

Instructions

  1. 1.

Pour 600 ml lukewarm water into a bowl. Break the yeast in, add the olive oil and sugar, and mix thoroughly with everything. Put the flour in another bowl, make a well in the middle, put the salt on the rim, and pour the yeast mixture into the well. Gradually knead with a little flour from the edge until you have a smooth dough that no longer sticks to your hands; add more water or flour if needed.

  2. 2.

Cover and let rise for about 45 minutes in a warm place until the volume has doubled.

  3. 3.

Shape the dough on a floured work surface into eight flat discs. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover again and rest for another 35 minutes.

  4. 4.

Preheat the oven to 250 °C (482 °F) with upper and lower heat.

  5. 5.

Wash the apples, quarter them, remove the cores and dice. Roughly chop the walnuts. Wash the marjoram, shake it dry and pluck off the leaves. Mix apple pieces, walnuts, sugar and marjoram together, spread on the discs and press slightly into the dough. Drizzle with a little of both oils and sprinkle with salt. Bake in the oven for about 8 minutes until golden brown.
