Ingredients
- 1.5 kg sugar
- 3 tbsp Lemon juice
- 50 g citric acid (pharmacy)
- 1.5 kg cherries
- 1 cinnamon stick

Bring 1.5 l water to a boil with the sugar and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and dissolve the lemon juice and citric acid in it.

Wash, pit, and add the cherries to the syrup. Gently mash them with a potato masher. Add the cinnamon stick and let steep for 1-2 hours.

Strain through a fine sieve. Briefly bring the syrup back to a boil and immediately pour into sterilized bottles. Seal tightly and allow the bottles to cool.
