Honey Almond Loaf

Ingredients
- 250 g butter
- 200 g honey
- 4 eggs
- 0.5 tsp grated orange zest
- 1 pinch salt
- 300 g flour
- 150 g Ground Almonds
- 50 g chopped almonds
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 20 ml almond liqueur
- 100 ml milk
- butter (for greasing)
- bread crumbs (for dusting)
- 2 tbsp honey (for brushing)
- 50 g almond slivers (for topping)

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with upper and lower heat. Grease a large loaf pan well and dust it with bread crumbs.

Cream the butter for the dough. Alternately fold in the honey and eggs. Then add the grated orange zest, salt, and almond liqueur. Mix the flour with the ground and chopped almonds and baking powder. Fold this into the cream mixture and stir in enough milk so that the batter is thick and falls off a spoon. Evenly fill the loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until golden brown. About ten minutes before finishing, brush the loaf with honey and sprinkle almond slivers on top.

Let the freshly baked loaf cool slightly in the pan, then carefully remove it and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
