Ingredients

  • 50 g Raisins
  • 50 g almond flakes
  • 50 g sunflower seeds
  • 250 g fine rolled oats
  • 100 g hearty rolled oats
  • 100 g coarse wheat bran flakes
  • 50 g beetroot syrup
  • 200 g brown cane sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 325 g butter

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 160°C.

    Combine raisins, almonds, sunflower seeds, fine and hearty rolled oats, wheat bran flakes, and cane sugar in a mixing bowl. In a saucepan slowly heat the beetroot syrup with the cane sugar, salt, and butter, stirring well until dissolved; pour over the oat mixture and combine thoroughly.

    Spread evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to a thickness of about 1.5 cm.

    Bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Remove, cut into bars approximately 8 × 2.5 cm, and cool on a wire rack.
