The homemade cherry liqueur from Spoonsparrow is a good gift or bring‑along!

(1)

Ingredients

  • 750 g sour cherries
  • 200 g whole cane sugar
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 clove of spice nutmeg
  • 500 ml clear alcohol (e.g., Korn)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Wash and pit the cherries. Combine them with the whole cane sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a jar, then pour the alcohol over to cover the fruit. Seal the jar and let it steep for at least 8 days, occasionally turning it upside down so the sugar dissolves.

  2. 2.

Strain the liqueur through a cloth‑lined sieve, squeezing out the fruit well, and fill decorative small bottles with the liquid. Optionally decorate with charms and cards before gifting. Store in a cool, dark place.
