Ingredients

  • 10 untreated lemons
  • 700 ml 90% alcohol (from pharmacy)
  • 800 g sugar

Instructions

    Wash the lemons and thinly peel the zest. Steep the lemon zest in the alcohol for 12 days, sealing well.

    Afterward filter the liquid through a cloth and squeeze out remaining liquid from the zest. Boil the sugar with 1 l water, simmer gently for about 10 minutes until a thick syrup forms. Mix the alcohol and syrup together and pour into a bottle. Garnish with a lemon slice if desired and seal tightly.
