Hedgehog apples with plum filling is a recipe featuring fresh ingredients from the core fruit category.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 100 g almond sticks
  • 5 tbsp plum jam
  • 10 plum jam
  • 50 g marzipan
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 4 almond kernels
  • butter (for the pan)

Instructions

    Wash the apples, pat dry and use a core remover to generously remove the cores.

  2. 2.

    Grate the marzipan finely and mix with the plum jam and egg yolk. Chop the plums small, add them with cinnamon and stir in.

    Skewer each apple all around with almond sticks and place side by side in a greased baking dish. Spread the filling over the apples and insert one almond on top of each.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C for about 25‑30 minutes. Arrange on plates and serve hot.
