Hawthorn Juice
You can easily make hawthorn juice yourself. The juice is a secret tip for your health during cold season. This recipe is found at Spoonsparrow.
Ingredients
- 3 kg hawthorn berries (freshly picked)

Wash the berries thoroughly several times and strip them from their stems. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. After 15 minutes the berries are soft and shriveled because they have already released much juice.

Then pour the mixture through a cloth or fine-mesh sieve into another pot. Squeeze out the residue thoroughly to obtain as much juice as possible.

The hawthorn juice is now ready and can be enjoyed fresh. To preserve it, fill clean bottles with the juice and seal them with rubber stoppers or screw caps.

Afterwards heat the bottled hawthorn juice in a pot with hot water for at least 30 minutes. Then cool and store.
