Ingredients
- 250 g soft butter (for the baking frame)
- 250 g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 500 g flour
- 150 ml milk
- 60 g red currant jam
- 1 tbsp clear apple juice
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with top and bottom heat. Place the baking frame on a sheet lined with parchment paper and butter it.
-
2.
Beat the soft butter until fluffy. Alternately fold in sugar and eggs, then add salt. Gradually mix in baking powder, flour, and milk, stirring briskly until a smooth, spreadable dough forms. Pour into the prepared frame, level the surface, and bake for about 50 minutes (test with a skewer).
-
3.
Remove from oven and let cool.
-
4.
Warm the jam in a small pot with apple juice. Remove the frame and pierce the cake 30–40 times with a skewer. Fill a syringe or squeeze bottle with the jam, cut a small hole, and fill the pierced holes.
-
5.
When cutting, "blood" will drip from the cake.
