- 800 g waxy potatoes
- Salt
- 40 g Butter
- nutmeg
- 250 ml milk
- 1 clove garlic
- 600 g mixed ground meat
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- 4 Tbsp breadcrumbs
- Salt
- black pepper (ground)
- olive oil
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 ball mozzarella (≈125 g)','a handful basil','olive oil (for drizzling)

Peel and cut the washed potatoes into pieces. Bring a pot of salted water to boil. Add the potato pieces and simmer for 15-20 minutes depending on size. Drain and let steam off briefly. Mash with a potato masher. Add cubed butter and season with salt and nutmeg. Press down with the masher, then stir in with a spoon or whisk until fully incorporated. Stir in the heated milk until a light, creamy mash forms and taste for seasoning.

While the potatoes cook, peel the garlic and press it into the ground meat mixture along with the egg, oregano, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Shape 8 meat patties from the dough and fry them golden brown in 2 tbsp hot oil on all sides.

Wash the tomatoes, remove stems, and slice. Drain the mozzarella and slice as well.

Wash the basil, shake dry, and pick off leaves.

Layer each patty with a tomato slice, two basil leaves, and a cheese slice. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

To serve, spread mash onto warmed plates, place a meat tower on top, drizzle with olive oil, and arrange remaining patties. Garnish plates with leftover basil leaves before serving.
