Ingredients

  • 1 loaf roll (from yesterday)
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 red onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 800 g mixed ground meat
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • oil for greasing the baking sheet
  • 125 g mozzarella
  • 0.5 bunch Basil

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 200°C with fan and top heat. Soak the roll in lukewarm water. Clean, wash, cut tomatoes into wedges and remove seeds. Wash peppers, quarter, seed, wash and slice into strips. Peel onions and cut into rings. Peel garlic and finely chop. Knead ground meat with squeezed-out roll, garlic, eggs and spices; season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onions, peppers and tomatoes briefly, seasoning with salt and pepper. Grease a baking sheet. Shape the meat mixture into an elongated loaf, press slightly flat and create a shallow groove along its length. Slice mozzarella and arrange decoratively over the vegetable mix. Bake in hot oven for 40‑45 minutes.

    Meanwhile rinse basil leaves and pluck them. Cut the pizza‑meatloaf into pieces and sprinkle with basil.
