Ingredients
- 8 green herrings (≈150 g, ready-to-cook, skin removed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 untreated lemon (juice)
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 peeled garlic clove

Preheat the grill.

Wash and pat dry the fish, then score the skin several times. Mix the salt, pepper, lemon juice, oil and pressed garlic; rub the mixture on both sides of the fish. Place on the hot grill and cook over medium heat, turning occasionally until golden brown, brushing with the sauce repeatedly. Serve with grilled shrimp if desired.
