Ingredients

  • 1 kg bottled tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp chopped herbs (oregano, thyme, rosemary)
  • Salt
  • black pepper (ground)
  • 1 baguette
  • garlic butter

Instructions

    Wash the tomatoes, halve them and place in a bowl. Mix with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper.

    Place the tomatoes cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 50 minutes until they are wrinkled but still slightly moist (or bake slowly on aluminum foil over a grill). Let cool on the tray.

    For the garlic bread slice the white bread and briefly toast on the grill. Immediately spread with some garlic butter and serve.
