Fresh Fruit Toast with Quark

Fresh fruit toast with quark from Spoonsparrow: The carbohydrates refill the depleted energy stores after a night.

Ingredients

  • 50 g apples (0.5 small apples)
  • 15 g chopped hazelnut kernels (1 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp apricot jam
  • 1 pinch cinnamon (preferably Ceylon cinnamon)
  • 1 slice whole grain toast
  • 40 g Low-fat quark (2 tbsp)

Instructions

    Wash half an apple, cut into quarters and core.

  2. 2.

    Coarsely chop one quarter, place in a small bowl and puree with a stick blender.

    Stir in hazelnuts, jam, and cinnamon.

  4. 4.

    Toast the whole grain bread and spread with quark. Spread the apple-apricot purée over the quark.

  5. 5.

    Slice remaining apple quarter into thin slices and top the toast with them.
