French Fries with Bratwurst

Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes (large and waxy)
- 1.5 l frying oil
- Salt
- 4 bratwursts
- 1 tbsp oil
- ketchup
- curry powder
Instructions

Brown the bratwursts slowly in hot oil for about 8 minutes until golden brown.

Prepare a deep fryer or heat enough fat in a large pot to 165°C; test with a wooden spoon handle – bubbles should appear when dipped.

Peel the potatoes, cut into sticks, and dry thoroughly.

Fry the potato sticks in batches for about 5 minutes until soft but still pale; remove from oil.

Increase temperature to 190°C, fry the sticks again in batches for about 2 minutes until crisp; drain well and season with salt immediately before serving.

Drizzle ketchup over the bratwursts, sprinkle curry powder to taste, and serve alongside the fries.
