Ingredients

  • 150 g spelt whole-grain flour
  • 100 g cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla powder
  • 0.25 tsp cardamom
  • 1 pinch star anise
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 10 fresh figs

Instructions

    Knead a dough from spelt flour, cold butter, egg, honey, spices and salt; wrap in foil and chill for 30 minutes.

    Wash the figs, trim the stems, and cut into wedges.

    Roll out the chilled dough to 2–3 mm thickness on a floured surface and place it in a (greased if needed) tart pan. Raise a rim. Prick the bottom with a fork. Arrange the fig wedges tightly on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan; gas: level 3) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
