Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 200 g yogurt
  • 2 tbsp chopped mint
  • 4 slices tomato
  • onion ring
  • parsley
  • 2 small cans chickpeas (265 g drained weight)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Sea salt
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • oil for frying

Instructions

    Drain the chickpeas in a sieve and let them dry well. Peel and finely dice the onion, peel the garlic. Puree the chickpeas, add the diced onion, pressed garlic, and parsley; season with cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper. Knead in the flour, form walnut-sized balls with damp hands, rolling in some sesame seeds. Fry in hot oil for about 3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper.

    For the dip whisk yogurt with lime juice and mint. Arrange tomato slices on a plate, top with onion rings, and thread falafel onto wooden skewers through the tomatoes. Garnish with parsley leaves and serve with yogurt dip.
