Spoonsparrow Energy Balls: The snack fills performance dips with quickly and slowly available carbohydrates!

Ingredients

  • 0.5 Orange
  • 50 g Oats
  • 75 g dried dates
  • 50 g almonds
  • 20 g honey (2 tbsp)
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

    Squeeze half an orange to extract juice. Mix the oats with 2 tablespoons of orange juice in a bowl.

    Halve, pit, and finely chop the dates and almonds in a food processor, adding an extra tablespoon of orange juice if desired.

    Combine the date‑almond mixture with honey and stir well into the oat blend.

    Toast sesame seeds in a hot pan without oil over medium heat for 3 minutes. Transfer to a small plate and let cool.

    Form about 28 equal-sized balls (≈2 cm diameter) from the mixture and roll each one in the toasted sesame seeds.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, spread the balls on it, and let them dry for at least an hour. Serve 7 energy balls per portion.
