Ingredients
- 500 g sugar
- 10 g citric acid (pharmacy)
- 250 ml apple juice
- 8 elderflower buds
- 1 untreated lemon

Boil the sugar with 500 ml water, the citric acid and the apple juice slowly while stirring and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Then allow to cool to lukewarm.

Do not wash the elderflowers; just shake them out of their stems. Rinse the lemon hot and slice it. Combine all in a jar or bowl. Pour the syrup over and cover, letting it steep for about two days. All ingredients should be fully covered.

Before bottling strain through a cheesecloth and briefly reheat while stirring. Fill the prepared bottle and keep well sealed.
