Ingredients

  • 400 g flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g quark
  • 150 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 50 g Raisins
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. 1.

Pour the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Add quark, sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, and a pinch of salt to the well and knead all ingredients together. If the dough becomes too firm, add a little milk. Shape the dough into a ball and chill for 30 minutes.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).

  3. 3.

Roll out the dough on a greased baking sheet or parchment paper to a thickness of about 5 mm and cut out a circle roughly 25 cm in diameter. Slice the butter into very thin slices and place about one quarter of them on the dough circle. Roll out the remaining dough, cut it to the same size, and lay it over the butter. Distribute raisins and another quarter of the butter on top. Cover again with dough. Alternate layers of dough and butter until all ingredients are used. Cut patterns into the top layer as desired. Brush the surface with egg yolk and let rest for 15 minutes. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
