Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 20 g soft butter
- 200 ml milk
- oil (for the pot)
- milk (for brushing)

Add the flour, salt and baking powder to a bowl. Beat in the soft butter and milk with an electric mixer until a smooth, firm dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, fold in a little more flour.

Oil a cast‑iron pot.

Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in the pot. Brush with milk and cut crosswise to create eight segments. Cover with the lid and bake over hot embers (or hanging) for about 40 minutes until golden brown. The bread is done when it sounds hollow when tapped on the underside.
