Cold Red Wine Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • 250 g fresh cranberries
  • 2 Oranges (juice)
  • 0.5 lemon (juice)
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 1.5 bottles red wine
  • 100 ml rum
  • Lemon zest (for garnish)
  • Clove
  • 1 cinnamon stick (finely chopped)

Instructions

    Add cloves and finely chopped cinnamon stick to each compartment of a spice cube container, fill with water and freeze.

    Wash the orange thoroughly and cut into wedges, removing seeds if necessary. Wash, rinse, and lightly crush the cranberries. Warm the orange wedges, orange juice, lemon juice, cranberries, sugar, spices, red wine and rum together while stirring, but do not boil. Let steep in a closed pot (without boiling) for 5-10 minutes. Strain the punch, pour into glasses and garnish with a lemon slice.

    Serve the punch cold: let it cool completely, then strain again, fill glasses with 2–3 spice ice cubes and serve garnished with a lemon slice.
