Ingredients
- 150 g natural rice
- 1 pinch turmeric
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- 3 pitted dates
- 300 ml coconut milk
- 200 g rice flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 40 g shredded coconut

Bring the rice with turmeric, vanilla powder, pitted and chopped dates, and coconut milk to a boil and simmer covered over low heat for about 25 minutes. Let it cool slightly, puree, fold in 20 g rice flour, then form into approximately 20 small balls.

For the coating mix 180 g rice flour with a pinch of salt in a bowl, add enough water and knead until a soft, pliable dough forms. Shape this into 20 spheres, flatten them, coat the rice balls, and place them in a steamer basket. Steam covered over hot water vapor for about 15 minutes. Remove, roll in shredded coconut, let cool, and serve.
