Ingredients

  • 200 g mixed nuts (palm nuts, cashews, almonds, hazelnuts)
  • 3 sticks of cinnamon
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 800 ml dry red wine
  • 160 ml dark rum

Instructions

    Wash the orange hot and pat it dry with paper towels. Halve it and slice into rounds. Toast star anise and the cinnamon sticks in a pot. Sprinkle the brown sugar over them and let it caramelize. Deglaze with the red wine and heat until the sugar dissolves, but do not boil.

    Pour the rum into glasses and fill with the mulled wine.

    Preheat the oven to "grill" mode. Place the nuts on a baking sheet, dust with cinnamon, and grill lightly until browned. Optionally, lightly toast in a dry pan.
