Chocolate Cherry Quark from Spoonsparrow: Layer by layer a delicious fit-maker for the new (school) day

Ingredients

  • 40 g buckwheat (2 tbsp)
  • 75 ml milk (1.5% fat) (5 tbsp)
  • 60 g sweet cherries (or 3 tbsp jarred sour cherries)
  • 1 tsp defatted cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 60 g low-fat quark (3 tbsp)

Instructions

    Roast the buckwheat in a dry pot until fragrant. Add milk, bring to a boil, then simmer gently for about 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.

    Wash the cherries, pit and halve them, or drain jarred cherries well.

  3. 3.

    Stir cocoa powder and honey into the buckwheat mixture and let it cool slightly.

    Layer buckwheat, cherries, and quark alternately in a bowl, finishing with a layer of quark. Sprinkle with a little cocoa powder if desired and serve.
