The chocolate cake with chocolate seeds is well received at children's birthdays. The fact that it is baked with less sugar and whole‑grain flour does not stand out.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 50 g whole‑grain sugar
- 100 g unsweetened applesauce
- 150 ml rapeseed oil
- 150 ml orange juice
- 115 g whole‑grain flour
- 115 g wheat flour type 1050
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 0.5 sachet baking powder
- 200 g dark chocolate couverture
- 80 g chocolate seeds
Instructions
-
1.
Beat the eggs with sugar for about 5 minutes until creamy, then stir in applesauce, oil, juice, flours, cocoa and baking powder.
-
2.
If necessary, grease a springform pan, pour the batter into it and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan‑forced; gas: level 3) for about 45 minutes (test with a skewer).
-
3.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool slightly on a wire rack. Carefully release it from the pan and transfer to a plate.
-
4.
Melt chocolate over a double boiler and coat the cake with it. Decorate with chocolate seeds and candles, then allow to dry.
