Ingredients

  • 2 chili peppers
  • 2 onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 300 ml meat broth
  • 400 g canned kidney beans (drained weight)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 80 g turkey bacon
  • 4 tbsp Sour cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped basil

Instructions

    Wash the chili peppers, remove stems and slice into thin rings. Set aside a few rings for garnish. Peel and finely chop onions and garlic.

    Sauté the pepper rings, onions, and garlic in hot oil until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until crumbled. Stir in tomato paste and pour in some broth. Simmer gently for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding more broth if needed.

    Drain and rinse the beans, then add them to the chili and simmer for another 15 minutes. Season the chili con carne with salt, pepper, and paprika. Slice turkey bacon into strips and crisp it in a pan.

    Serve the chili con carne with bacon in bowls, topping each with 1 tbsp sour cream, fresh basil, and a garnish of chili rings.
