Drain the pickles and slice thinly. Peel the onion and cut into narrow rings. Wash, dry, and pat the lettuce leaves. Halve the buns horizontally, toast briefly or lightly roast in a 200°C oven. Place a lettuce leaf on each bottom bun, add a chicken burger patty, drizzle with salsa, top with a cheese slice. Briefly melt the cheese under a hot grill, then add pickle slices and onion rings, close with the top bun. Plate and serve with fries if desired.
