The aromatic Chai tea from Spoonsparrow is quick to make and the perfect soul warmer for cold days.

Ingredients

  • 750 ml oat milk
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 3 black tea bags (e.g., Assam)
  • 0.5 stick cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • a pinch nutmeg
  • 2 tsp raw cane sugar

Instructions

    Warm the oat milk in a pot over medium heat. Crush the cardamom pods with the back of a knife. Add the cardamom, tea bags, cinnamon stick, and cloves to the oat milk and season with a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg.

    Let the chai steep covered for about 10 minutes, but do not boil. Remove the tea bags, sweeten with sugar, strain into cups, and serve.
