Spoonsparrow Red Velvet Hot Chocolate – Vegan cocoa in a pink dress

Ingredients

  • 0.5 Vanilla bean
  • 50 g dark chocolate (vegan; at least 70% cacao)
  • 350 ml almond milk
  • 50 ml beetroot juice
  • 10 g cocoa powder (2 tsp)
  • 30 ml oat milk (3 tbsp)

Instructions

    Split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a knife. Finely chop the chocolate.

    Add almond milk, beetroot juice, and vanilla seeds to a pot and warm over medium heat. Stir in the chocolate and cocoa powder with a whisk. Remove from heat once the chocolate has melted.

    Warm oat milk in a small saucepan and froth it. Pour the Red Velvet Hot Chocolate into glasses and serve topped with vegan milk foam.
