Ingredients

  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 4 whole black peppercorns
  • 10 g ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 tsp Assam tea
  • 50 ml Milk (3.5% fat)

Instructions

    Crack the cardamom pods with the back of a knife and coarsely grind the peppercorns in a mortar. Wash the ginger and slice it thinly.

    Roast the spices in a hot pot over medium heat for a few minutes, then add the ginger. Pour in 300 ml water and simmer gently for about 20 minutes. Add the Assam tea during the last 3 minutes.

    Strain through a sieve, pour the chai into a cup, and add the milk.
