Caramel coffee from Spoonsparrow: Without sugar, instead date puree provides the Spoonsparrow caramel note!

Ingredients

  • 2 Medjool dates (pitted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla powder
  • 150 ml Milk (3.5% fat)
  • 400 ml freshly brewed coffee

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Blend dates with 2 tbsp water and vanilla until smooth. Use a hand blender in a slightly wider glass for best results.

  2. 2.

    Sift half of the date puree through a fine sieve into the glass, then pour fresh brewed coffee. Repeat with the remaining puree.

    Warm milk in a small jug and froth it with a milk frother. Spoon the foam over the caramelized coffee and serve immediately.
