Ingredients
- 5 slices of white bread
- 1 onion
- 1 Garlic clove
- 0.5 cucumber
- 3 tomatoes
- 2 stalks of celery
- 2 tbsp capers
- 1 tbsp olives
- 2 sardine fillets (canned)
- 3 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp freshly chopped herbs (basil and parsley)
- Lemon juice
- Salt
- pepper (ground)
- basil (for garnish)
Instructions

Remove crusts from the bread and tear it into large pieces. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Wash and dice the cucumber. Wash the tomatoes, remove stems, and dice them as well. Wash the celery, optionally strip fibers, and slice thinly. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.

For the dressing, finely chop the sardines. Mix with vinegar, olive oil, and herbs, then season with lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Fold the dressing into the salad and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Taste again and serve garnished with basil as desired.
