Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 400 g ready-to-cook herring fillets skinless (4 fillets)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • oil for frying
  • Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • a splash lemon juice
  • 20 g butter

Instructions

    Wash the herring fillets, pat dry and brush with melted honey. Season with a splash of lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 8-10 minutes until browned.

    Peel and chop the onion. Mix with flour and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
