- 2 tbsp butter
- 400 ml milk
- 1 fresh bay leaf
- a pinch cloves powder
- 100 g white bread (crumbled)
- 2 tbsp crème fraîche
- Salt
- pepper (ground)
- nutmeg

Peel the onion, finely dice it and sauté in melted butter in a pot until translucent. Add the milk, bay leaf, and a pinch of cloves powder to the pot and bring to a boil. Let simmer gently for about 20 minutes, then remove the bay leaf and crumble the white bread into the sauce. Remove from heat and let steep for about 15 minutes.
