Ingredients

  • 180 g whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp crushed flaxseeds (or chia seeds)
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 200 g cream cheese (45% fat in solids)
  • 75 g blueberries

Instructions

  1. 1.

Mix 160 g flour, flaxseeds and baking powder in a large bowl.

  2. 2.

Add the cream cheese and knead into a firm dough.

  3. 3.

Wash the blueberries, pat dry and gently crush or halve them. Carefully fold them into the dough.

  4. 4.

Dust a work surface with remaining flour and divide the dough into six equal pieces.

  5. 5.

Shape each piece into small balls and optionally flatten slightly. Punch a hole in the center (beginners can also form round mini rolls without holes).

  6. 6.

Place the blueberry bagels on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for 20–22 minutes until lightly golden.

  7. 7.

Remove the blueberry bagels from the oven, let them cool completely before serving, and cut into finger-friendly strips or quarters.
