Ingredients

  • 400 g blackthorns
  • 150 ml apple juice
  • 40 ml rum (or non‑alcoholic rum)
  • juice of one lemon
  • 500 g gelatin sugar

Instructions

    Wash, clean and drain the blackthorns well. In a pot combine them with apple juice, rum, lemon juice and gelatin sugar; bring to a boil. Let it bubble for about 5 minutes (do a gel test).

    Transfer the mixture into prepared jars, seal tightly and invert them. Allow to cool slightly, then flip upright again and let cool completely.
