Bircher Muesli – smarter

Ingredients

  • 100 g rolled oats
  • 300 ml milk (1.5% fat; possibly 2-3 tbsp extra)
  • 1 lemon
  • 300 g small sour apples (2 small sour apples)
  • 40 g Hazelnuts

Instructions

    Place the rolled oats in a bowl. Stir in the milk and let it swell overnight in the refrigerator, covered. If the mixture is too dry, add 2-3 tbsp milk as desired.

    Halve the lemon and squeeze out the juice. Pour the juice into a bowl.

    Wash the apples, dry them, peel them, quarter them, remove the cores and cut them into pieces. Immediately mix them with the lemon juice so they don't brown.

    Roughly chop the hazelnuts with a large knife or in a food processor.

    Mix the apple pieces into the rolled oats. Distribute the muesli on two bowls, sprinkle with hazelnuts and serve.
