Beetroot Potato Mash
This beetroot potato mash is rich in iron and folic acid, supporting healthy development.
Ingredients
- 250 g large potatoes (2 large potatoes)
- 300 g beetroot (2 roots; free‑range)
- 125 g small oranges (1 small orange)
- 80 g sunflower seeds (4 tbsp)

Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes into about 1 cm cubes.

Clean the beetroot thoroughly under running water, peel it, and cube it; wear thin disposable gloves if desired.

Bring the potatoes and beetroot with 100 ml water to a boil in a pot, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until tender.

Meanwhile halve an orange and squeeze out its juice. Grind the sunflower seeds finely using a blender or food processor.

Add the orange juice and ground sunflower seeds to the vegetables and blend everything into a smooth puree with a hand blender. If necessary, thin the mash with a little water and bring it back to a gentle boil for a short time.

Let the mash cool slightly, divide it into four portions, feed one portion fresh, and freeze the remaining mash.
