- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 600 g ground beef
- 0.5 tsp Dried oregano
- 0.25 tsp ground cumin
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 200 g smoked tofu
- 6 tbsp Olive oil
- 50 g ketchup
- 1 tomato
- 1 tsp dried herbs (optional)
- Tabasco (to taste)
- lettuce leaves (optional, e.g., iceberg or romaine)
Instructions
-
1.
Cut a small piece of the baguette, about 100 grams, into small cubes and soak in water. Peel and finely chop the garlic and onion; sauté both in hot butter until translucent, then set aside to cool slightly. Pat the tofu dry and cut into small cubes. Squeeze out excess liquid from the soaked bread and mix with the ground beef, garlic, onions, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into patties using damp hands.

2.
Heat remaining olive oil in a pan and cook the patties on both sides for about 8 minutes. Season ketchup with herbs and Tabasco; dice the tomato and mix it in. Slice the baguette, place on a baking sheet, and toast at 200°C for 2-3 minutes. Assemble by layering lettuce, placing a patty on each slice of bread, brushing with sauce, covering with another slice, and serve hot.
