Spoonsparrow barley water: The refreshing grain drink is a real health secret!

Ingredients

  • 70 g barley
  • 0.5 organic lemon (zest)
  • 0.5 stick cinnamon
  • 3 Cloves
  • 0.5 tsp anise powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 dried dates

Instructions

    Soak the barley with lemon zest, cinnamon, cloves, anise, ginger, salt and dates in 1½ l lukewarm water for 3–5 hours.

    Bring to a quick boil, then simmer gently for about 2 hours. Strain afterwards.

    Drink the barley water warm or slightly cooled; optionally flavor it with ½ cup fruit juice.
