Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 1 Garlic clove
- 2 kg pork spare ribs
- 1 onion
- 1 Garlic clove
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 100 ml tomato puree
- 50 ml ketchup
- 100 ml honey
- 60 ml orange juice
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- pepper (ground)
- paprika powder
- Tabasco (optional)
- meat broth (as needed)
Instructions
-
1.
Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add the peeled and halved onion and garlic clove, simmering the ribs for 20-30 minutes.
-
2.
Remove the onion and garlic, finely chop them and sauté in a hot pan with oil until translucent. Add the remaining ingredients, season well, and reduce slightly. If the sauce is too thick, add some meat broth. Preheat the oven grill.
-
3.
Drain the cooked ribs quickly and pat dry if needed. Brush the warm ribs generously with the sauce and grill for about 20 minutes, turning frequently and brushing again as desired. Plate and garnish with thyme before serving.
